Chairman of Tourism and Wellness ITS and CEO of ISCOM Emilia Romagna -Confcommercio.
Originally from Romagna and now living in Bologna, Andrea Babbi was born in Ravenna in 1962, is married and has four children.
A graduate in Economics and Business from the University of Bologna, since the end of the 1980s, he has been a member of the Boards of Directors of the University of Bologna, the Agro Food Centre of Bologna (CAAB), Cariromagna Banca Intesa, Consorzi Fidi, the Unicredit Regional Committee, and founded the magazine Mulino Economia dei Servizi.
He worked at Credito Romagnolo and then at the Bologna Trade Association.
Since 1992, he has held the position of General Manager of Confcommercio Emilia Romagna, working with passion and developing real services, and supporting the interests of regional companies in trade, services and tourism. For seven years, until 2012, he was CEO of APT Emilia Romagna S.r.l., a regional tourism promotion company, and improved, disseminated and strengthened the tourist image of Emilia Romagna in Italy and abroad, through ideas such as Motor Valley, Food Valley, Wellness Valley and the “Coloured Nights” of Pink, Pale Blue and Green.
Between 2012 and 2015, he worked for the Italian government on the Strategic Tourism Plan, and became General Manager of the National Tourism Agency, promoting Italy and Expo2015 through the Made in Italy campaign. Since July 2015, he has been Chairman of ISCOM GROUP S.r.l., a consultancy company in the tertiary and tourism sector, CEO and General Manager of ISCOM Emilia Romagna, the Confcommercio training agency. Since June 2017, he has been Chairman of the Tourism and Wellness Foundation – Innovative Technology higher technical college for Cultural Assets and Activities, and of Petroniana Viaggi.
